Charging systems development lead at MJR/Charge Offshore, Dimitri de Gunzbourg, will lead a session on decarbonising vessel operations at this year's Offshore Wind Journal Conference, an annual event which showcases developments in the offshore wind vessel markets.
In the session, ‘Developments in offshore charging to support vessel operations’, de Gunzbourg will discuss electrification as a route to wind farm vessel decarbonisation; spotlight vessel charging solutions currently on the market; explore considerations for installation commissioning, redundancy and design safety; and present lessons learned from initial vessel charging sea trials conducted by MJR/Charge Offshore.
The conference, which takes place on 3 February at the Park Plaza London Riverbank, brings together industry experts, vessel owners, marine contractors, developers and the wider supply chain to share knowledge and innovation across all areas of offshore wind - this year with special focus on pipelines and economics, vessel requirements, technical developments, fleet strategies and innovative solutions for vessel decarbonisation.
De Gunzbourg commented: “With a mission to deliver clean and emissions-free power to electric and hybrid vessels at sea, MJR/Charge Offshore has developed flexible, safe and efficient offshore charging solutions for a range of crew transfer and service operation vessels.
“Offshore Wind Journal’s annual conference gives us the opportunity to help propel the transition to marine electrification by sharing our knowledge, showcasing real-world case studies and offering decarbonisation advice to the wider offshore wind community.”
